The Midnight Library

Book Club Review 9 out of 10 readers enjoyed/loved this book ‘Wisdom from a librarian in a library and the main character, Nora, loves cats – what’s not to like about this book’ (from a cat-loving librarian in our book club ). 🙂 Most in the group enjoyed this book. The book club : * loved the concept; * found it to be an easy read; * were reminded of Dr Who and visiting places in time; * discovered a surprisingly profound, philosophical message to ponder; * reflected on the infinite possibilities and choices we have in life * exploring the great ‘WHAT IFS’; and * concluded it was a good holiday read! 1 reader described it as average, a banal attempt at Qantum physics and was sick of the multiple truisms. Barb’s Review Loved the originality and creativity of this book but did find parts of the library travel to be a bit OTT! Loved the character of Mrs Elm and her role in the story. Appreciated the reflection on the nature of regrets and how much time air time we give to thinking about our choices. Interesting how each reality has its own issues!! Really enjoy books that not only deliver a good plot and likeable characters, but challenge your thinking along the way!
