For the Term of His Natural Life
Book Club Review 7 readers Most found this book: * a dense, challenging, engaging read with ALOT of detail; * very similiar to reading Dickens; * enjoyed how it brought to life convict life and the justice issues of our colonial past; * especially loved the melodramatic, cinematographic ending; * surprised by the strong female characters in this period of history; and * pleased that these period dramas still exist and are being read. Barb’s Review Absolutely loved this book!!! Learnt so much and the language was a delight!! Was very evident from the story that the ‘punishers’ and the ‘punished’ were both victims of the colonial penal system. This is an EPIC tale with well described landscapes, great suffering, justice versus injustice and heroism. Few books are like this!!!
