Hello friends – new and old!!

I’m Barb 

I LOVE to discover, find, explore, experience and share. Whether it’s books, recipes, recycling, renovations, road trips or just random….

I LOVE life. I LOVE people. I LOVE kindness. I LOVE slow. I LOVE sharing.

I married my ‘CHIEF BESTEST FRIEND” and 30+ years later, Kev still writes this on cards to me. I LOVE doing life with Kev – it has never got old! It just gets better each year. So so blessed.

We lived our first 26 years married together in the Blue Mountains with views of the Grose valley and loved it! We raised 3 kids – a girl and 2 boys.
The beautiful bushland was on our doorstep. The birdlife was spectacular and the mountain mists breathtaking. This was the backdrop to a very, very full life. Busy on steroids. My Christmas letters every year would describe my life as chaotic, frenetic, full on, another year gone in a flash… every single year!!!!

Then we decided to make a SEA CHANGE to Kiama. It was a scary , BIG decision.

We bought a house on the South Coast. Two years later we sold our Blue Mountains home and migrated to a landscape of green, rolling hills, blue water, cafes, pelicans and seagulls.

During our move, a thoughtful friend (who knew me well) commented on a card -ENJOY YOUR NEW LIFE – RELAXING BY THE SEA!! Great concept – RELAXING. Not a word that was really a part of my everyday vocabulary but certainly one I wanted to understand, experience… FIND. I wanted to intentionally step off the treadmill when we moved to the coast. I wanted to… FIND RELAXED.

That was 10 years ago. My daughter is now married with 2 delightfully perfect daughters (aged 6 and 3). And one of my sons has married and they have a perfectly gorgeous 7month old baby boy. My other son is at uni and we LOVE that he still lives at home.

My life now is an ongoing journey of learning to find the moments to RELAX, appreciate SLOW, love RANDOM, ENJOY my coastal life and ………BREATHE!!!(And fit in family, running 5 book clubs, work, bake, renovate….)
