Before

The Reason

Everyone has been talking road trips and it sounded exciting.

Kev and I have not been to Broken Hill before and this seemed like a good starting point. We asked our friends Jen and Mark if they would like to join us. We have been friends for 40 years and know each other pretty well… and they still said YES!!

Jen and Mark were keen to include Adelaide, Great Ocean Road and Daylesford as stops along the way.

The Crew

Kev on the left, Mark on the right (fashion sense evident?)

The Wheels
Mark offered his Triton ute and that seemed perfect for an outback adventure. It was diesel, 4WD, had LOTS of luggage space and was quite comfy front and back.

The Plan
We are both “un-retired” and so were limited to 2 weeks for the whole trip. Jen and I did lots of research beforehand and as usual had way too many options for each place we were visiting. Even the boys commented “not another train museum” after the first few.
It was great to have more options than we needed as each day we could decide which ones appealed most (keeping in mind the boys as well – not TOO MUCH retail therapy!!!).
Decided to head for Broken Hill first, down to Adelaide, around the coast to the Great Ocean Road, over to Daylesford and sprint home.

I am the photographer in most of the pics I have included… so get ready for LOTS of pics of everyone else 🙂
